This is a lynching and the media has shown their true colors and lack of credibility in their coverage of this

"Until an employee is willing to come forward, these attorneys are drumming up a lot of anger, a lot of emotion, but they’re not presenting the evidence that would e needed for either a civil or a criminal conviction." Saldana

Filner has long had a reputation as a bombastic asshole, but has he always done the kind of thing his accusers describe? It seems unlikely that he could get through four decades of a political career without being called out for over-the-top sexual harassment. So ... this suggests that the outrageous behavior is relatively new. And that suggests the possibility of a neurological disorder -- not complete out of the question in a 70-year-old. There's a rare disorder called Pick's Disease that often presents with aggressively inappropriate sexual interest. I wish someone would publicly suggest that Filner needs to see a neurologist. If the problem is medical and therefore beyond his control, he needs to leave office (and could probably be forced to step down without lawsuits, criminal charges, or a recall).

More sloppy reporting. 5. Filner admitted to sexual harassment. Sorry, but you don't show any examples of any press saying such a thing. 4. Filner will be out of office soon. This is speculation, bolstered by Garry South, you answer it with your own speculation based on Filner being defiant. It remains to be seen who is wrong but as much as I want Filner to stay and further damage the progressives that continue to support him my money would be he is out soon, or simply in hiding while other people run the city which is also not surviving. 3. Filner is accused of sexual assault. Politico got it wrong and retracted it, so what? 2. San Diego mayors are always getting in trouble. So some tweet from a slate guy is the "National Media"? Kinda reaching, eh? 1. This is just another political sex scandal. Um, no one actually says that, they just lump it in with other poorly behaving libido's.

You're right on all these. One more area however where national AND local media are getting it wrong ... there's a story here you're not covering about prominent Democrats outside city government who supported Filner in the mayoral race. They became so focused on not getting smeared with connection to it that they took it in their own hands and suggested they should decide who leaves office and NOT the voters and NOT the processes of city government that are set up to address such things. They made a circus out of all this. One of them bellowed in front of TV cameras to the point that people used the word "unhinged" to described it. There's a story there. Right there.
