How are the candidates for the newest City Council seat, District 9, pitching themselves? What are their priorities? What don’t they want to discuss?
We met with both current District 7 Councilwoman Marti Emerald and businessman/activist Mateo Camarillo and pulled together a reader’s guide to each of the candidates. Emerald wants to make sure you know she’s not a carpetbagger, but she doesn’t want to talk about how to actually pay for things. Camarillo says wouldn’t be running if he had it his way, but he doesn’t want to talk about specific solutions to solving problems.
