So I hear Marti Emerald is, indeed, running for City Council. Imagine that. Some of you remembered that I had mocked the idea that she was only considering a run with a promise: If she didn't run, I'd run through the Civic Center Plaza in a Scooby-Doo costume.

Too bad for you she did run. But to show I was serious and give a peek at what you missed, I thought I'd prove I was indeed seriously backing up my claim. Scooby was prepared, but he knew he'd never run.

Glad to see Marti tossing her hat in the ring. With the current awful city council running out of steam, we need every competent candidate we can get. Marti's experience and knowledge of our city's problems would serve her will if elected.

Scott: Sorry we won't get to see your dash around the Plaza, especially your stops at the hydrants to pick up messages. Watcher: stop smoking and/or drinking the cheap stuff. Experience? Knowledge? Not!

MArti Emerald may be a breath of fresh air at City Hall but unfortunately she seems to be teaming up with the same old players. Rumors are that she's hiring Larry Remer to run her :outsider" campaign. Remer, the political operative who was indicted for felony campaign violations, who ran Juan Vargas's campaigns (when Vargas voted to underfund the pension) and Ralph Inzunza (who was convicted of corruption himself). The "Trouble Shooter" should start looking in the mirror!
