" -- That says a heckuva lot more than you did. I had no idea that they were this close until I read it in the UT. Your post? Not so helpful.

Not to speak for Scott, but I'd say anyone who wants to know what's going on in SD reads ALL the news ALL the time, for better or worse. This includes the left and right blogs that often get tipped off long before the traditional news media. Recently, the right wing blogs have scooped news before the right wing SD-UT, and I've read the articles where such blogs have been given credit for the hat tip by the big paper. // Now, Larry, you ongoing and bitter curmudgeon, the reality of news is that it gets disseminated widely, and nowadays there's no longer a real urgency to be first or to be the scooper. Scooping used to mean something, but now it is irrelevant with the new internet media phenomenon. What's important is that news doesn't get buried!

If CV goes thru with aything close to the $300 million give away that was last on the table the residents should take out the entire pool of elected officials and pound themn into the ground-head first.
