He also said that he agrees the Petco Ballpork scam engineered by McGrory, Golding, and benefitting billionaire sports-mogul John Moores was a bad deal...but he thinks the statute of limitations prevents us suing for our money back. He says that he wants to talk with the Chargers, but pledged to spend no city money on any more stadiums. We'll see...remember, the unions don't love Francis, they just HATE Sanders."

"Larry, calling what Sander's is doing "negotiating" is getting pretty loose with the English language. There seems to be a heavy anti-union stance in the Voice and the UT. I am not a member of the City's unions nor are any of my family or friends. Of course I believe cuts need to be made within the City, but the Mayor seems to focus most of his attacks on AFSCME and he lets police and fire do whatever they want. The public also seems to accept privatization as the fix-all to pension issues, but no one bothers to mention the many cities that privatized their work force and now have returned to union labor after things fell apart. Do I believe the Mayor could fix these issues? Yes. I just don't think he has the political guts to do it the right way."

"Ian is correct. People can and do change. I campaigned city-wide as a Republican in 1994. Nowadays I'm completely opposed to what the Republicans have done both nationally and locally. I wouldn't vote for one of those religious-right wackos ever, and yes I DO think we have an environmental and economic emergency on our hands. I only hope Francis has had a similar turn-around in his thinking."

Actually the public does not want to see the City work force go private-what the public wants is fiscal restraint with the pulic jobs-no more of these pension and pay scams. If the public CANNOT get the government jobs in line with what the public gets, then we need to privatize the process-very simple."
