Beach Booze Ban on Ballot?

Published: Monday, July 21, 2008 6:53 PM PDT

The beach alcohol ban may be headed for the November ballot, from the sounds of a news advisory just sent out by City Council President Scott Peters.

Peters and Councilmember Kevin Faulconer will be holding a press conference tomorrow at 12:15 p.m. to talk about "voter choice" on alcohol at the beach.

Officialdom is being purposely vague about exactly what will be announced. However, given that the city's one-year trial beach ban is due to expire in November, and there is an election in November ... well, you do the math.

The presser will be held at the foot of Reed Street, west of Mission Boulevard.
