City Hall and More on the Radio

Published: Friday, October 17, 2008 1:30 PM PDT

I was on the radio today talking prez politics, City Hall and Proposition B. Give it a listen if you have a second. You have to put up with some of KPBS' fundraising messages (dang nonprofits!). But I think it's worth it. I had more coffee than usual, but I think I'm getting better at it.

I was just wondering - exactly who picks the subjects to be investigated by VOSD? I mean, why was SEDC focused upon, and why is it that the SDUSS (School Systems) HUGE uncheck (no real oversight?) budget not seen as being of any real interest? No bid contracts? What if "the man" can direct which group (like SEDC) to put into the spotlight -would that not allow problems in that targeted segment to be 'found out" so 'change' power & influence redistribution, in areas in which the people have very little real community leadership or wealth of their own? Is there just so much going on in San Diego that we can push things like Prop S because the mainstream and power elites support prop S? I mean it was somewhat clear with the UT were, who was directing the story topic, but the VOSD?
