Peters Back to Coastal Commission

Scott Peters, a Democrat and wearer of many local political hats, was appointed as an alternate today to the California Coastal Commission by Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Peters is a current port commissioner, former San Diego City Council president and also former member of the Coastal Commission, the state agency that regulates land-use decisions affecting California's coastal region.

Peters, 51, is an attorney and lives in La Jolla.

Not very good news for our coast! But completely in character for Scwarzenegger, who single handedly forced the coastal commission to change their vote last month, allowing San Diego to continue dumping 50 BILLION GALLONS OF POORLY TREATED SEWAGE each year off Point Loma. And all with the blessing of Ed Kimura (SD Sierra Club) Bruce Reznik (SD CoastKeeper) and Marco Gonzales (SD Surfrider Foundation). link link
