The study obtained by VOSD leaves San Diego poised to make the largest paradigm shift in how it handles its wastewater since the city stopped dumping raw sewage in San Diego Bay.

We in the marina and boatyard industry are working hard to educate the boater on environmental responsibility.

Boat owners are supposed to take routine precautions to make sure they don’t pollute the bay while painting or sanding. But that doesn’t always happen.

The incident is just one symptom of a major pollution problem that has plagued San Diego’s coast for decades, one that was supposed to have been fixed 15 years ago.
