The city wasted over $2000 trying to decide how to remove the mosaic. They finally decided to just ask the artist how to remove it, and he replied, "remove the 18 screws". This tells you just how efficiently your tax dollars being spent.

I think if they leave it up, they will end up with a lot more dubious "art" to have to deal with, and graffiti experts in court defending their right to destroy property. But I'm just a cynic. We're such cowards that I imagine the City will allow itself to be bullied into keeping it until someone else comes along and gives it a big whack with a sledge hammer (there's always someone about who will). And so it goes. Then what? Does the City spend time and money guarding it and maintaining this "gift"?
