Be the Beacon: Rubbing Elbows and Opening Eyes

Our special events give folks like Mana and Dave a chance to learn more about their city, and meet the people who are changing San Diego.

Voice of San Diego is more than a platform for publishing in-depth, investigative stories. To better foster dialogue around meaningful issues, we try to create and maintain a sense of community — both within our coverage area around San Diego County and among our readers.

Our special events make up a huge part of that. Whether it was this summer’s Politifest, the no-holds-barred mayoral conversation we hosted at the Birch Theatre in November, or our semi-regular culturally infused Meetings of the Minds, we always hear from folks what new insights they gathered that would’ve been lost without a little face time.

VOSD members Mana and Dave count themselves as happy event attendees. Look for them at our next get-together, and find out what they get out of their decision to Be the Beacon.
